Planning for fewer planners?

Irish Times letters:

Madam, – Michael O Braonain made an interesting point (April 8th) about a possible fall in the numbers of planners in local authorities. While some contract staff have been let go, the reality, as reported by RIAI Architectural Practices, is that the planning process has become even more difficult, despite the fall in applications. The familiar principle of work expanding to fill the space available is being applied. – Yours, etc,

JOHN GRABY,
Director,
Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland,
