bps planning consultants (www.buckplanning.ie) note that the oral hearing into the Lansdowne Road stadium redevelopment project begins today the 11/12/2006 at the Gresham Hotel and is expected to last until the 22/12/2006. The existing stadium is a Protected Structure. This appeal was lodged on the 08/08/2006, under An Bord Pleanala reg. ref. 218917. The parties to the appeal are:

An Environmental Impact Statement has been submitted.
The redevelopment of Lansdowne Road was been given the green light by Dublin City Council on July 31. There has been a long process of consultation with local residents, who had voiced concerns over the redevelopment. If An Bord Pleanala grants permission, Construction is set to commence on the project early next year.
